simple concept . So get into LA today- "Right now is a good time to try out loving awareness on someone" ( LA promo )
For almost thirty years now Radio Caroline has been promoting Loving Awareness
(in short LA). Many promo's have been produced since the start of the LA campaign
which was inspired by some Beatles and Ronan O'Rahilly.

available on cd).
Click for tribute pageLA is no religion and it doesn't harm you nor any other person. Just
remember to find the love which is embedded in yourself; share it with others and act
accordingly. LA is about giving up nothing and gaining the world.
Above all: Do onto others as you would do onto yourself and the spirit of LA will
forever guide your life. By practising this, others are more willing to share in return a life
of love with you
.
- "Bringing you love and piece of mind" (definition of LA in a Caroline jingle)
So "Keep as cool as you can. Face piles of trials with smiles. It riles them to believe
that you deep the web they weave and keep on thinking free" ( LA promo)
The above indicates that an integral part of Loving Awareness is about dealing with
your inner world , how to enlighten yourself, reaching higher levels of consciousness
and working towards a stable piece of mind. Getting into LA also means freeing your
mind from stress, discomfort, conflicts and the surrounding labyrint of misleading
thoughts and indoctrination.
LA makes you aware that "Life is about relationship - the relationship we have with
ourselves, with each other, with the world, as well as the connection to that which is
beyond any of us yet imminent in each of us. When our relationships are good, we
feel good; when they are bad, we feel awful. Let's accept it: we need each other. We
need to feel connected; we need to feel each other's presence and love."
( quote:
Lama Surya Das )A bit of reading on wisdoms , insights, thoughts and even concentration techniques
from other cultures might help us in the direction of inner LA. Some old cultures have
thoroughly studied and written down how to reach different levels of piece of mind.
The American Lama Surya Das is a person who is able to explain things in an easy
way:

There's people who don't believe at all in it. They say it's not possible or it never
happened before, or it couldn't possibly happen. Now to accept that view, for me,
is to accept that the planet is finished. So I'm an optimist and being an optimist, I
have to look to the only possibility for the planet not being finished. And the only
possibility for the planet not being finished is to get into Loving Awareness.
We call it Loving Awareness because it is Loving......Awareness: The Love
and the Awareness of other human beings. That's Loving Awareness.
Now if we don't get into that and because we have nuclear weapons, because the
result of agression is nuclear, and because nuclear wipes out the whole planet and
everything living on it < >We are generating an energy of love for humanity. That's
our contribution, to get people into that idea. Right ? If that took off, then the people
who became loving as the result of putting the effort in, and getting into the habit of
it, they would then take a decision about nuclear weapons. In other words,
theytake the decision. It's nothing to do with us. We are just a catalyst. We're like a
transmitter... Well, that's what we are. A transmitter. We're transmitting this idea.
We hope people will pick up on it. (1977)

Caroline worthwile because of LA (Ronan O'Rahilly)
I believe Caroline is worthwhile < > because of the Loving Awareness thing. The
value of the station is based on the fact that by using it, to stimulate the loving idea.
A lot of people, believe it or not, more people than you think, are into it. It's just a
little fantasy in their brain, but if you plant the seed, that's powerful. I mean it is
brainwashing. The whole trip is brainwashing. I mean we watch television, we go to
school, the whole thing. It's just WHO does the most brainwashing. (1977)
They brainwashed my great uncle
Brainwashed my cousin Bob
They even got my grandma when she was working for the mob
Brainwash you while you’re sleeping
While in your traffic jam
Brainwash you while you’re weeping
While still a baby in your pram
Brainwashed by the military
Brainwashed under duress
Brainwashed by the media
You’re brainwashed by the press
Brainwashed by computers
Brainwashed by mobile phones
Brainwashed by the satelites
Brainwashed to the bone
Words from the title track of George Harrison's latest album "Brainwashed"
released in 2003.
'Life is not meant to be about wealth and consumption. It’s meant to be about peace,
love, and harmony with oneself, one’s neighbors, and the universe at large. The soul
does not love. It is love itself," he sings on the title track, offering a final wish and
fitting goodbye…
The more time spent with Brainwashed, the more its subtletiesbecome apparent.

Caroline DJ Tony Christian giving his interpretation of Loving Awareness:
"In the beginning Ronan our founder of Radio Caroline devised a concept of Loving
Awareness, a theme and belief that has stuck with Caroline throughout the years.During
my early days while working for Caroline, I must admit to not fully understanding all this
and thought it "far out man", but ran with it.
Basically it's all about being nice to people, respecting people, not intentially hurting one
another and loving people around us. In reality, that's not too much to expect of people
around you. Personally over the years I have thought hard about this concept, and totally
believe in it, even more so in recent years.
So thats fine, but in this 24hr world when most people are rushing around 24/7, having to
work long hours purely to survive, I personally find that there are very few genuine people
left in this world, with very few people that you can trust as friends, as life has become so
competitive.
It's a dog eat dog world out there with most people only careing about themselves and not
careing who they upset to get what they want. I believe some people would steal your teeth
if you opened your mouth sometimes, and stab you in the back as soon as you turned round.
If only people had more respect for each other, what an ideal world this would be, It's not
hard really is it to adapt this way of thinking. How right Ronan O'Rahilly was in his way of
thinking and his beliefs. Here endeth this sermon".

Chris Bent giving his interpretation of Loving Awareness:
(photo 2001 in Maidstone UK - from Chris Bent's website)
For me, Loving Awareness is:
- Smiling, being kind, not being nasty, being prepared to admit you are wrong, making life easier for
others, brightening someones day, listening to others, thinking with your heart, playing good music.
Appropriate in relation to Loving Awareness is a song titled 'Reflections', sung by Sally Kellerman
(better known as the actress playing the role of Hotlips in M.A.S.H). The lyrics are as folows:
When you look at yourself - do you like what you see?
If you like what you see - you're the person you should be
' cause your reflection reflects in everything you do - and everything you do reflects on you
When you wake up each day - do you like how you feel
If you like how you feel - You've got nothing to conceal
' cause your reflection reflects in everything you do - and everything you do reflects on you
Doing something for someone else - isn't really for someone else
It does twice as much for you - as something you do just for yourself
' cause your reflection reflects in everything you do - and everything you do reflects on you
When you lay down to sleep - do you like all your dreams
If you like all your dreams - life's as happy as it seems
' cause your reflection reflects in everything you do - and everything you do reflects on you

Also Loving Awareness IS 'unconditional love'.
I've researched the song 'UnconditionalLove'. OK, it's by Donna Summer with Musical Youth, but check out the words. For instance in the
lyrics the old Greek word 'Agape'(brotherly love) is used
